Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) today announced that it has been awarded a contract by VimpelCom (NYSE: VIP), a leading international provider of telecommunications services, operating under the "Beeline" brand in Russia and Kazakhstan, to deploy Alcatel's mobile Next Generation Network (NGN) solution in the Ural.
